In 2019, the capital campaign quiet phase was launched, and the museum project quickly gained community support, raising 1.2 million dollars for a beautiful new facility. Construction on the revamped Museum began in April of 2021, and despite numerous setbacks due to supply chain issues and Covid 19, as well as unexpected challenges with the building and the site, the project was completed on time one year later. A new name and branding as The Heritage Museum of Newaygo County was undertaken to coincide with the new building. A Grand Opening was held in Fall of 2022 to celebrate a bright new future for an old and treasured institution.
