About the event

Big Prairie is a Desert??!!- with David Wright, Big Prairie Township Supervisor

The Speaker Series continues at the Heritage Museum of Newaygo. One of our favorite speakers is back to discuss how the county has a ‘prairie” in the true sense of the word – right here in Newaygo County! David Wright will tell us how there is a prairie in West Michigan - Big Prairie! Webster defines a prairie as: a large open area of grassland, especially in the Mississippi River Valley Area. Prairies are enormous stretches of flat grasslands with moderate temperatures, moderate rainfall, and few trees. Here in West Michigan – how is that possible? Come and find out! Thursday the 17 th of August. Times: 1:30pm and 6:30pm at the Heritage Museum at 12 Quarterline Rd. in downtown Newaygo.
